Test & Balancing is the one acknowledged way to determine that your HVAC system is delivering the design air quantities at the required conditions to each air outlet. Test & Balancing also provides the means to see if the equipment is handling the specified total quantities of air – and if the equipment is operating withing the manufacturer’s specifications.
If the system uses condenser water or chilled water, the Test & Balance process also includes measuring the quantities of water passing through the unit and the temperature of the entering and exiting water.
A thorough certified air balance should be performed after an HVAC system is installed to ensure that it is operating according to the design criteria, manufacturer’s specifications, and AABC National Standards for Total System Balance (TSB).
The Testing & Balancing report is in effect a Report Card of the HVAC Systems Performance.
